Bagheri Kani: Washington is Israel's partner, not a mediator to stop the war | News
Iran's acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani called for using all means “to force Israel to stop its crimes in Gaza,” noting that his country does not consider the United States a neutral mediator in ceasefire talks.
In a post on the X platform, Bagheri Kani said that he exchanged views with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani – during a phone call on Friday – on the course of the Doha talks to stop the war on Gaza.
The Iranian official explained that he “draws attention to the attempts at deception and fraud by the United States and Israel at the negotiating table.”
Bagheri Kani stressed that Iran considers the United States a partner in providing weapons of war to Israel, and that it cannot be a neutral mediator in the talks, according to him.

Talks were held in Doha for two days on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and a prisoner exchange, at the invitation of the leaders of the United States, Qatar and Egypt.
The talks resulted in a new American proposal to “bridge the gaps” between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel, and a call for a new round of talks in Cairo before the end of next week.
The political movement regarding the possible ceasefire agreement in Gaza comes amid the continued state of alert in Israel in anticipation of a response from Iran and Hezbollah to the assassination of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, during his visit to Tehran, and the military commander of Hezbollah, Fouad Shukr, in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
