A thriller breathless with an impossible to guess ending, does that sound good to you? That's what we like in movies or series, right? So, sit comfortably on your sofa, tune in to TMC, and enjoy this Monday evening the very good On the Line led by Mel Gibson!

On the Line tells the story of Elvis Cooney (Mel Gibson), a late-night radio host in Los Angeles. One night, a mysterious listener calls him and claims to be at his home, where he has kidnapped his wife and daughter…

On the Linewith its pitch that makes you want to watch it, is the adaptation of the multi-award-winning short film Talk by Romual Boulanger, itself taken from a true anecdote experienced by the French director when he was a radio host. One night, during the record, the switchboard operator said to me, “There's someone who wants to talk to you at the switchboard.” A listener said to me, “I want to go on air, I kidnapped your mother. And if I don't go on air, I'll kill her.”says the filmmaker on the microphone of our colleagues at Sud Radio. “My mother had already passed away, so her plan didn't work. But I kept it in mind and thought it's a good start to a story.”

With a small budget of $10 million, Romuald Boulangerto whom we owe the film Connected (available on the Prime Video service) signs a particularly effective, constantly surprising, anxiety-inducing closed-door film. In addition Mel Gibsonwe find in the credits of this intense thriller with a twist Paul Spera (Becoming Karl Lagerfeld), William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia saga), Kevin Dillon (Matt's brother) and Nadia Farès.

Mel Gibson says no to David Fincher but yes to Romuald Boulanger!

Major asset of this On The Line filmed entirely in Paris and the Paris region: a Mel Gibson magnetic, who takes over the role played in the short film by William Baldwin. This is the second time that the Hollywood star (who could soon be back in a cult saga) has worked for a French filmmaker, six years after Jean-François Richet's Blood Father.

“The first time I saw Mel Gibsonhe told me “I read your script, it reminded me The Game,” says Romuald Boulanger, still for Sud Radio. “David Fincher had proposed to him The Game at the time, and he said no. But he said, “I like your movie better for a particular reason,” which I can't say without spoiling it. It is desirable, no ?
