SZ Podcast: Pisa Study: Attention, your future is at risk – Education

The results of the PISA education study are in – and they do not look good for students in Germany. Their skills in basic subjects have declined nationwide – 15-year-olds are finding it increasingly difficult, especially in mathematics. There are several reasons for this: the school closures during the pandemic, but also the fact that more and more students with a migrant background are learning in German schools and are not getting the support they need there.

In this episode, education expert Lilith Volkert from the SZ politics department talks about the results of the study and the long-term consequences of Corona in the education sector. It is high time to get the funding programs out of the drawers again. Otherwise, says Volkert, it will be a message not only for affected students, but for society as a whole: “Attention, your future is at risk.” You can hear the entire conversation on “Auf den Punkt”.
