Protests denounce the assassination of the martyr Al-Ghoul and Al-Jazeera refutes the occupation’s allegations | News
Al Jazeera Network refuted the allegations made by the occupation to justify the assassination of colleague Ismail Al-Ghoul and photographer Rami Al-Rifai, while several press outlets issued statements condemning the targeting of journalists.
Al Jazeera Media Network has refuted the flimsy allegations that the Israeli occupation army is trying to use to justify its deliberate assassination of colleague Al-Ghoul and his companion, photographer Rami Al-Rifi.
The occupation admitted targeting Al-Ghoul, saying that he belongs to the Qassam Brigades.
The network said that these are just lies, as evidenced by the fact that the occupation forces had actually arrested colleague Ismail Al-Ghoul on March 18, during their invasion of Al-Shifa Hospital, and detained him for a period of time before releasing him, which confirms that the occupation does not have any security file against him.
Al Jazeera Media Network calls for an independent international investigation into the heinous crimes committed by the Israeli occupation army against its journalists and workers since the start of the war on Gaza.
Al Jazeera Media Network reserves the legal right to pursue and hold accountable anyone behind this targeting.
In the same context, Al Jazeera Network organized a stand to condemn the Israeli occupation’s assassination of colleague Ismail Al-Ghoul and photographer Rami Al-Rifai.
In a stand at the headquarters of Al Jazeera Network, journalists demanded that those involved in the crime be held accountable and that the targeting of journalists in the Gaza Strip be stopped.
During the vigil, Al Jazeera News Channel Director Ahmed Al Yafei said that the assassination of Al Jazeera correspondent Ismail Al Ghoul and photographer Rami Al Rifi is not the first crime committed by the occupation against Al Jazeera journalists, stressing that the channel will continue to work to convey the truth despite the risks and challenges.
Journalists in Gaza also organised a similar protest to condemn the assassination of the two martyred colleagues, Ismail al-Ghoul and Rami al-Rifai.
The participants pledged to follow in the footsteps of the two martyrs and all other martyrs of journalism in the Strip to convey the suffering of the people of Gaza to the world after 300 days of war.
Palestinian journalists and media professionals held another stand in front of the journalists' tent in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, in solidarity with Palestinian journalists who are being subjected to bombing and assassination.
Long list
Reporters Without Borders said on its X platform that journalists Ismail al-Ghoul and Rami al-Rifai join a long list of journalists killed in Gaza.
The organization added that the need to protect journalists in Palestine has never been more urgent than it is now.
Pictures showed the first moments of the Israeli occupation forces targeting Al Jazeera correspondent Ismail Al-Ghoul, and also showed the occupation forces deliberately targeting the car in which colleague Ismail was riding with at least one missile from the occupation aircraft.
For its part, the US State Department offered its condolences for the killing of Palestinian journalists in Gaza, including Al Jazeera correspondent Ismail al-Ghoul.
In response to a question from Al Jazeera, US State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said that his country had requested more information about the killing of al-Ghoul, adding that protecting journalists who convey the truth on the ground in Gaza is a moral obligation that Israel must fulfill.
