Netflix: After 4 seasons, this science fiction series rated 4 out of 5 is saying goodbye this week – News Series

Kids who appear out of nowhere and are given superpowers, apocalypses galore, and a dysfunctional family that we love: The Umbrella Academy is saying goodbye this week on Netflix.

In 2019, Netflix subscribers discovered Umbrella Academy, a science fiction series adapted from the comics by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba. Rated 4 out of 5 on AlloCiné, with more than 10,000 ratings, this superhero production is one of the most popular titles on the platform. But after 5 years of good and loyal service, the Hargreeves children are saying goodbye to Netflix. The platform is putting the last 6 episodes of the series online on August 8.

A season 4 of all dangers

In Season 4, the Hargreeves siblings are scattered after the final showdown at Hotel Oblivion, which results in a complete reset of their timeline. Stripped of their powers, they must fend for themselves and find a new normal, with varying degrees of success.

However, it is difficult to ignore the peculiarities of this strange new world for long. Their father Reginald, alive and well, has emerged from the shadows and made himself known to the general public, overseeing a powerful and nefarious business empire.

A mysterious group known as the Guardians is holding clandestine meetings, convinced that the reality they live in is a lie and that the truth will soon be revealed. As these new forces conspire around them, the Umbrella Academy must come together one last time—and risk upsetting the uneasy peace they have worked so hard to establish—to finally set things right.

Elliot Page, David Castañeda, Tom Hopper and Robert Sheehan are back in this final season which welcomes new faces. Two of them are played by the brilliant Nick Offerman (Parks and Rec) and David Cross (Arrested Development).

Will this season 4 be the one of reconciliation between all the members of the Umbrella Academy? Expect in these 6 new episodes revelations about the universe, unexpected relationships, comedy and … emotion.
