To take the plunge and register for the 19th season of Love is in the meadowManuela was pushed by two friends. This woman from the Centre Val de Loire, small in height (1m57) but big in heart, should receive a lot of mail after the broadcast of her portrait on M6. Former associate notary and director of the Tours notarial school for around ten yearsManuela decided to drop everything four years ago because her school closed. She then took a one-year agricultural diploma and became a breeder of ornamental chickens.

In his three-hectare farm where coexist 300 chickens of nearly 25 different speciesManuela raises breeds that are rarely found or that are in small numbers. The goal? To contribute to the preservation of these animals and participate in their recognition by the general public. Her love for chickens began around the age of 20 when the parents of a friend gave her a book on chickens.It’s fascinating” she wonders. With grandparents who were market gardeners and farmers, the chances of her ending up surrounded by animals were high.
