Good news for John Wick fans! A true success for Summit Entertainment and Thunder Road, the saga will soon be adapted into a series. Liongate Television is at the helm of this project, as revealed by Variety.

Keanu Reeves to Executive Producer on John Wick: Under the High Table

While no channel or streaming platform has yet been attached to this adaptation for the small screen, know that Keanu Reeves will indeed be part of it since he will be executive producer on the series alongside Basil Iwanyl and Erica Lee.

In addition, Robert Levine has been appointed as the showrunner for the project. He will also be a writer and producer. If this name rings a bell, it's because he largely contributed to the success of the series “Black Sails.”

The announcement comes just months after longtime franchise director and producer Chad Stahelski signed a deal with Lionsgate to oversee the expansion of the blockbuster universe.

Named “John Wick: Under the High Table”, the story of the series will take place just after the events of the fourth installment of the saga, as revealed in a few lines of the synopsis:

“The Wick universe will be propelled into a new era”

“John Wick has left the world of High Table in a difficult position, and a long list of new characters will attempt to make a name for themselves while others more familiar to the franchise remain loyal to the order of the old world. The series will combine the new with the old and propel the Wick universe into a new era.”

An enticing pitch that should excite long-time fans. It remains to be seen whether a channel or streaming platform will be interested in this adaptation. This would be the second project inspired by the universe since “The Continental: From the World of John Wick” was broadcast on Peacock in 2023.
