TikTok has become one of the most popular social media platforms worldwide in recent years.
Do you also use the app but don't quite understand how it works? TikTok has some exciting features up its sleeve.

The main features of TikTok
TikTok is basically easy to use – scroll, like, follow, film. We have listed the main functions of the app here:
★ The “For you” page
The “For You” page is the homepage of TikTok. It shows you videos that have been generated for you based on an algorithm. This means that the more you like and comment on a topic, the more you will see that type of video.
★ The “Following” page
In addition to the “For You” page, there is also the “Following” page if you swipe right. There you will only see videos from people you follow.
★ Friends
TikTok also has a feature where you can see videos only from your friends. To do this, you have to follow each other. You can even create groups in addition to chatting with your friends to connect better.
★ live
A popular feature for connecting with your community is the live feature. Start a live stream and talk or write to other users in real time. This gives you the opportunity to answer questions and comments immediately and you can even receive gifts from other users.
Attention: To go live on TikTok, you must have 1,000 followers, a public profile and be at least 18 years old.
TikTok offers many different features for music, videos and streaming
★ inbox
The inbox is similar to your email inbox, but for TikTok. This is where you will be notified when someone likes or comments on your videos or when you gain new followers. This is also where you can message friends and receive requests.
★ Search
On TikTok, you can use the search function to search for specific topics or keywords with hashtags. You can also find accounts or sounds here.
★ profile
This is where you can upload your videos and write comments. There is also the option to customize your username and profile picture. If you want to upload videos as a creator, you can use the TikTok Studio to track your followers and reach.
Make videos
There are two ways you can start with the videos: Either click on the plus in the middle at the bottom and go directly to the editing area, or click on the Sound of a video and can record a video directly to that sound.
There are various functions in the recording area: front and rear camera, video speed, beauty filter, filter selection, effect selection, timer, flash, video length, MV function and sounds.
Once the video is shot, there are even more useful features available to make your video more exciting: be it text, stickers, a voice overlay or adjusting clips and sound.
If you click further, you will enter the “Publish” mode. There you can add a caption to your video. Hashtags make your videos easier to find. You can also tag your friends. Here you can also change the cover image and add text.
Now choose who you want to publish the video to: Private (only you can see the video), Friends (only your friends) or Public (everyone). And now you have a video on your profile.

However, there are other features that TikTok offers.
With the duet function, you can, for example, react to other TikToks with a shared video or allow your own videos to be shared. The finished duet then shows both users. You can also make duets with your own videos. Many creative musical strands or acting acts have already been created this way.
With Supervised Mode, parents can help their children upload videos in a safe environment. Custom settings allow the child to set a daily screen time limit.
However, you can also set contact options and restrict use of the mode by filtering out certain adult content. This way, your child can also be safer on the TikTok app.
