Camping with Porsche roof tent and pavilion
Porsche has expanded its offering for outdoor enthusiasts by introducing the Porsche Pavilion, which complements the existing roof tent. The pavilion offers flexible use as a weather shelter, lounge or retreat and can be set up in just a few minutes. It has a central valve for quick inflation and a guying set with reflective straps for secure attachment to the ground. The scope of delivery includes a hand pump, a side wall with a transparent plastic window, a groundsheet with Velcro fasteners and a connecting tunnel that enables a weatherproof connection to the tailgate of a four-door Porsche.
The design of the pavilion comes from Studio FA Porsche and is characterized by a black and gray color concept and a mountain silhouette as a graphic element. The floor space is 2.30 x 2.30 meters. The pavilion can be extended with an optional extension tent in the form of a steep wall, which can be used as a bedroom. Other accessories include side walls without windows or with mesh fabric as insect protection. Several pavilions can be combined with one another.
The basic pavilion package (including pavilion, vehicle connection tunnel, groundsheet and side wall with window) costs 1,547.00 euros, the pavilion extension tent including inner tent costs 416.50 euros.
Porsche roof tent from 4,980 euros
In combination with the roof tent for selected Porsche models, the offer for camping fans is complete. The hard-shell roof tent in black/dark gray costs 4,980 euros and can be installed with a base carrier from the roof transport systems on the Porsche 911 Macan, Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan with and without roof rails. Installation on convertible, Targa and GT models is not possible.
When unfolded, the “bedroom in the attic” measures 2.73 square meters (210 x 130 centimeters). The floor is made up of an integrated mattress made of high-density polyfoam, and the walls are made of a breathable cotton blend. A separate canopy for entry protects against rain when climbing into the roof tent. The interior is decorated with an insulating, quilted lining in light gray, and two side windows let in light and air. Insect screens and additional blackout options keep out prying eyes and unwanted small visitors.
Accessories for the Porsche roof tent
According to Porsche, the set-up takes very little time. Open the safety tabs, lift the hard shell case (two gas pressure dampers help with this), then use the integrated telescopic ladder to fold out and stabilize the underbody foot section. Four spring rods bring the roof tent into shape in a final step and the sleeping area is ready. If you want to equip the airy sleeping area even better, you can choose an inner tent, a thermal blanket, and a shoe and bag organizer, among other things.

Quilted lining adorns the interior, two side windows let light into the interior.
There are still a few small catches at the end: If two people move into the roof tent, they should both weigh a maximum of 70 kilos each and the luggage must be stowed in the vehicle interior. The construction cannot support a load of more than 140 kilos. If you choose a Macan, Cayenne or a Panamera or Taycan Sport Turismo model with roof rails as the base vehicle, the maximum load level increases to 190 kilos. However, the same applies to all Porsche models with a roof tent installed: Speeds of more than 130 km/h are not permitted.
In addition to the roof tent, Porsche now also offers the pavilion for outdoor enthusiasts. The pavilion is flexible and quick to set up. It can serve as weather protection, a lounge or a place to retreat. The design comes from Studio FA Porsche. The basic package costs 1,547 euros. The roof tent is available for 4,980 euros and fits various Porsche models. It offers an integrated mattress and insect protection. The maximum load is 140 kilos, 190 kilos for certain models. The top speed with the roof tent is 130 km/h.
