Camping Paradis: Did you know? It's this iconic TF1 presenter who should have had the lead role in the series! – News Séries

Did you know? It's this legendary TF1 presenter who should have had the leading role in Camping Paradis and it's very surprising!

Starting tonight, Camping Paradis returns to TF1 for a new episode. The opportunity for viewers to see Jérôme Anger again, who already appeared once in the series, as well as Christelle Cholet, Garance Teillet (Tomorrow Belongs to Us) and Tristan Le Vexier (Here It All Begins).

In this new installment, a couple of farmers arrive at the campsite. As they do every year, they come with some of their animals to introduce rural life to tourists who have come to spend a few days at Tom's holiday village.

However, the climate is far from idyllic, as their business is about to go bankrupt. Their daughter does everything she can to help them, but her modern ideas have a hard time getting through to her father. An episode that should please long-time fans.

Broadcast since 2006, the series still records great audience successes. But did you know that a legendary TF1 presenter should have had the leading role in the fiction? It was during an interview with Sud-Ouest in 2021 that Laurent Ournac confided this incredible secret:

“Tom Delorme was supposed to be played by Vincent Lagaf”

“Tom Delorme was originally supposed to be played by Vincent Lagaf. The character was older, a widower and a father. He was much more athletic than me with my more easy-going physique. But it couldn't be done.”

But then, how did the actor end up at the head of Camping Paradis? “After noticing me in My Incredible Fiancé, Jean-Luc offered me the role. So it was necessary to reshape this role to adapt it to me.”

“There was a mix-up”

A few months earlier, Vincent Lagaf' had already spoken on this subject in the columns of Télé 7 Jours: “People have forgotten it, but this series was originally written for me. I was supposed to do it, and then there was a mix-up, and Laurent Ournac got the role.”

A confusion that was finally resolved since the former host of Bigdil then appeared for one episode in the series. It's not easy to imagine someone else in Laurent Ournac's place, is it?

One thing is certain, this formula still works very well fifteen years later. Proof that the actor has managed to unite a large audience around the character of Tom. We'll be back tonight at 9:10 p.m. for a brand new episode of Camping Paradise.
