Apple Event: BILD tests the new iPad Pro 13 inch | Life & Knowledge
On Tuesday, Apple introduced its new iPad Pro and came up with a superlative: It is the thinnest device Apple has ever built. Even thinner than the iPod nano – the thing you only used to listen to music, remember?
BILD was present at the launch in London and was able to Apple thinnest device in your hand.
The 13-inch iPad Pro is just 5.1 mm thin. And indeed, you can feel these 5.1 mm – or not. The new iPad Pro feels like you have nothing more than a display in your hand. Until you remember that it also contains a complete computer including Apple's new M4 chip.
The display is also impressive: Apple customers already know the deep black of an OLED display from the iPhonebut on the size of a 13-inch iPad it looks even more stylish.
However, there is something about the new iPad Pro that is not particularly slim: the price. Despite all the excitement, disillusionment quickly sets in – and the thought that the iPad Air, which is a few millimeters thicker, could also be a good option.
Curious: Apple's Air models have always been particularly light and slim. But if you pick up an iPad Air straight after the Pro, it now looks almost clunky.
The basic version of the 13-inch iPad Pro costs a whopping 1,549 euros. That's another 100 euros more than the previous models. The 13-inch iPad Air starts at 949 euros.

However, you are not only paying for the thin casing, but also for everything that is inside: Apple promises, among other things, that the new M4 chip will work four times faster than the M2 in the iPad Air.
However, it is not possible to judge how noticeable this difference is after trying it out for the first time at the event.
