After 300 days of aggression, Gaza’s direct losses exceed $33 billion | Economy
The government media office in the Gaza Strip announced today, Thursday, that the Israeli war led to direct losses in the Strip amounting to 33 billion dollars.
The office stated – in a statement on the occasion of the 300th day of the Israeli war on Gaza – that the besieged Strip is facing a deep and complex humanitarian crisis that has affected all aspects of life, as the direct initial losses from the genocidal war have exceeded 33 billion dollars so far, in addition to tens of billions of dollars in indirect losses.
The Palestinian statement described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as “catastrophic in every sense of the word, as the humanitarian crisis is worsening and deepening in an unprecedented manner.”
He explained that “Israel's policies of closing the crossings and preventing the entry of aid, medicines, goods and merchandise have exacerbated the food crisis and reinforced the policy of starvation and malnutrition, especially against thousands of children.”
The government office added, “The occupation's crime of closing the crossings caused a real humanitarian disaster by preventing more than 25,000 wounded and sick people from traveling to receive treatment.”
Mass graves
The Palestinian statement pointed out that Israel “destroyed hospitals, burned them, put them out of service, and established 7 mass graves inside them, specifically in the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, the Nasser Medical Complex, and Kamal Adwan Hospital.”
He pointed out that “about two million displaced people in Gaza are living a very harsh and difficult life.”
The government statement said that dozens of different diseases are spreading among the displaced, the most dangerous of which are polio and viral hepatitis.
Regarding the educational reality in Gaza in light of the war, the statement said, “More than 800,000 male and female students were deprived of education because Israel completely destroyed 117 schools and universities, and partially destroyed 332 schools and universities.”
The government media office in the besieged sector added that more than 39,000 male and female students were prevented from taking their high school exams.
Unprecedented disaster
On the housing front, the statement said that Israel had caused an unprecedented humanitarian disaster anywhere in the world, “destroying 150,000 housing units completely, destroying 80,000 housing units that were no longer habitable, and partially damaging 200,000 housing units.”
The Palestinian government statement also said that Israel “destroyed more than 206 archaeological and heritage sites” in Gaza.
It also destroyed 25,000 kilometers of electricity, water, sewage networks, roads and streets “intentionally and according to a well-thought-out destructive plan.”
The statement indicated that “the occupation deliberately destroyed 70 water wells and put them completely out of service, so that obtaining water in the Gaza Strip has become a very big and difficult issue.”
In addition, the Palestinian statement stated that Israel completely destroyed 610 mosques, partially destroyed 211 mosques, and also destroyed 3 churches.
3457 massacre
Regarding the victims of this Israeli war, the Palestinian statement stated that Israel “committed 3,457 massacres that resulted in 49,480 martyrs and missing persons, including about 10,000 missing persons under the rubble of destroyed buildings.”
He added that among them, “39,480 martyrs arrived at hospitals, including 16,314 child martyrs and 10,980 female martyrs, with the percentage of children and women among the victims reaching 69%.”
The government statement pointed out that the Israeli army killed 885 doctors and medical staff, 79 civil defense personnel, and 165 journalists and media professionals during this fierce war.
He added that the occupation army “executed more than 100 distinguished scientists, university professors and researchers in Gaza.”
In its statement, the Government Media Office held Israel and the US administration “fully responsible for the profound humanitarian catastrophe that has been created in the Gaza Strip as a result of the genocidal war.”
The statement called on the US administration to “stop supplying the occupation army with missiles and bombs to kill civilians, children and women” in Gaza.
He also urged the international community and all UN and international organizations to “pressure the occupation to stop this brutal aggression and stop the crime of genocide that the Israeli occupation army has been carrying out for the 300th consecutive day without stopping.”
In contempt of the international community, Israel has continued its war with American support since October 7, 2023, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop it immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and to improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
