Franck Dubosc is an actor, but also a screenwriter and director. TF1 is broadcasting “Rumba la vie” tonight, his second feature film after “Tout le monde debout”. A third film will be coming soon, among other projects. Let's take stock!

While the comedy Rumba la vie is broadcast this Tuesday evening on TF1, we take stock of Franck Dubosc's news. When will we see this essential face of comedy on screen again, big and small? Four projects are coming. Here's the menu.

A “prodigious” film this fall

Franck Dubosc will be in the cast of Prodigieuses, on November 20, 2024. The film is inspired by the story of the Pleynet twins. The pitch: The Vallois sisters are admitted at the age of 18 to the Karlsruhe University of Music with the eminent Klaus Lenhardt. They thus carry the dream of their father who gave up everything to make them the best. But an orphan disease affects the hands of one of them and stops her in her ascent. While her sister shines, she soon suffers the same fate. Unable to imagine their life without the piano, the twins will develop together a technique unique in the world and thus become, more than ever, “prodigious”…

The film, co-directed by Frédéric Potier and Valentin Potier, brings together Camille Razat, Mélanie Robert, Franck Dubosc and Isabelle Carré.

An adaptation of the werewolf game for Netflix

Having become very popular in recent years, the board game The Werewolves of Thiercelieux becomes a feature film for the Netflix platform. It should be one of the highlights for the streaming giant by the end of 2024.

At the helm of this project is François Uzan (Lupin, En place). He wrote the screenplay and is directing his second film here – his first, On sourire pour la photo, was released in May 2022.

The story: After a game of Werewolves, a family from the 21st century is taken back to the 15th century. Arriving in a village, they understand that monsters are attacking the inhabitants. Very quickly, they will have to discover who the culprits are.

On the screen, we find Franck DuboscJean Reno and Suzanne Clément in the main roles, Lisa Do Couto Teixeira, Alizee Caugnies and Raphaël Romand in the roles of the children, but also Jonathan Lambert and Grégory Fitoussi.

A new film as director

At the beginning of February, we revealed that Franck Dubosc was going to direct his third feature film entitled Un Ours dans le Jura. The actor and director (who also plays in the film) directs Laure Calamy, Benoît Poelvoorde, Joséphine de Meaux and Kim Higelin. With a desire to launch into the genre of black comedy like the work of the Coen brothers.

A Bear in the Jura will take place in an isolated house in the middle of a Jura forest where Michel and Cathy, a couple in their fifties, live. Their lives are turned upside down the day a bear nearly hits their car and kills two other people in a vehicle. The couple finds a stash of two million euros in the victims' trunk and will have to deal with the regional inspector played by Benoît Poelvoorde. Released in theaters on January 1, 2025.

Classifieds coming back soon?

Towards a return of the short format of Classifieds with Elie Semoun? While he was in the middle of promoting the new part of Ducobu, Elie Semoun confided to Leisure TV his desire to relaunch the lozenge that made him known to the general public.

If Franck says yes, I'll do it tomorrow“, explained the comedian. “But really. It's whenever he wants. I have lots of ideas, but I can't do them without him. I could resurrect Miqueline, Rodriguez, and there are so many idiots in society, stupid associations, people who complain about everything, people who grumble, who want to assert themselves, who want to exist, there's plenty to do, it's hilarious!

Then, invited to La Grande semaine, the new M6 show, Elie Semoun was questioned by Ophélie Meunier about the return of Petites annonces. The actor then replied that he was still waiting for his partner's validation to make an official announcement.

He then called Franck Dubosc directly and passed the phone to Ophélie Meunier.Franck, we have an official request from the entire gang at La Grande Semaine.”, she explained.

We are with Élie Semoun, who is our first guest, and obviously we remember your highlights in Les Petites annonces. And we really officially want to ask you to accompany him to relaunch this phenomenon, will you say yes?”, she then asked Franck Dubosc.

After a few seconds of suspense, the comedian then replied: “I want to say yes!”.

Now it remains to be seen what the terms of this return will be. Will they have a special evening as was the case for Les Inconnus or will they really relaunch the segment on a regular basis?

Stopped at the end of the 2000s, Les Petites Annonces d'Elie was the subject of a reboot in 2015 on C8, then a special evening on W9 in 2017. In 2020, Elie Semoun and Franck Dubosc had already met for a sketch in Vendredi, tout est permis.
