Dagmar Faltis is a real estate and digitalization expert. She was part of the Immoscout management team for a long time and is now the boss of Aroundhome.
She clearly states that anyone can get into the real estate industry – even Gen Z with little money. 400 euros is enough to get started.
Depending on the time horizon, this can even be done with less money. But if you put money aside regularly every month, you will have enough equity for a lucrative purchase in just a few years.
Young people are striving to own their own home in the countryside or in small towns. This is shown by a survey by the Wüstenrot building society, which spoke to almost 700 people. Almost 90 percent of those surveyed from Gen Z hope to have enough money for their own home one day. According to Dagmar Faltis, CEO of Aroundhomethis goal is anything but unrealistic.
“You can definitely enter the market with just 400 euros,” explains Faltis. She should know. Because she is an absolute expert in the field and has years of experience in the industry. At Aroundhome, she is responsible for sales, category management and corporate communication. Before that, the Berliner was part of the Immoscout24 management team. She says: “First and foremost, I am a digitization expert.” The topic of real estate came along over the course of her career, but she is still very enthusiastic about it.
What is Aroundhome?
Aroundhome is a platform for homeowners. Owners can use the website to find suitable specialist companies for their house projects, i.e. to obtain products and/or services related to the house.
Aroundhome's business model is based on connecting customers with certified specialist companies and providers in their region. Aroundhome provides advice and ensures that the customer receives several offers from different providers so that they can compare them. The company benefits from the commission it receives from the service providers when an order is successfully placed.
The expert would like to see more young people in particular get involved in buying a suitable property. “When you're young, you have more options,” says Dagmar Faltis. In other countries, property ownership is viewed fundamentally differently. “For us, it's emotional and a lifelong commitment. In other countries, it's a capital investment that you can sell at some point.” She appeals to people to approach the topic without fear and with courage.
In an interview with Business Insider, the expert reveals how this is achieved. Dagmar Faltis also goes into more detail about how Gen Z can achieve home ownership.
