Zorro on W9: did you recognize this Netflix star under the vigilante's mask? – News Series on TV

Tonight, the TNT channel is broadcasting its new fiction “Zorro”. As its name suggests, this fiction tells the revisited story of the famous masked hero… Moreover, it is a star of a Netflix series who plays the character!

Thursday, August 15, 2024, W9 invites its viewers to discover its new series telling the revisited story of Zorro, from 9:10 p.m. In this fiction carried by a former Netflix star, the adventures of our hero begin in 1834…

The new Zorro has arrived

Everyone hopes to take control of California: the old settlers, the newly installed government that needs the support of Mexico after serving the Spanish crown, the Russian oligarchs at the head of Russian-American companies, the French who do not want to give up their control over this rich territory and the newly formed United States of America.

As always, it is the people who must bear the consequences of all these conflicts: the native Indians, some of whom serve as slaves, the Mexican workers exploited and disenfranchised by the government, and the immigrants of all origins who came in search of opportunity.

Their last hope lies in a local hero who has – for a time – preserved the peace. Chosen to be the new Zorro, Diego de la Vega is more concerned with his goal of unmasking his father's murderers…

Guzmán from “Elite” becomes Zorro

Miguel Bernardeau was chosen to play the vigilante. But remember: for four seasons, he wore Guzmán Nunier's uniform in the series Elite! He also played the role of Angel in 1899, also produced for Netflix.

This more modern adaptation of Zorro presents a new hero from another generation: younger and more fiery, he evolves over the episodes until he becomes a man. Facing him, there are formidable enemies but he can also count on his allies of always (Bernardo or Tornado), faithful to the post.

In this series, women have for once a lot of power for the time and repartee. The Native Americans, for their part, are also determined to defend themselves! Fighting scenes, romance, mystery… Zorro is back in shape and all the elements that made his legend are there!

The broadcast begins this Thursday, August 15, at 9:10 p.m. on W9.
