Un Si Grand Soleil: the rapprochement between Muriel and Boris, Eliott's release from prison… Lou Kuma Kudi's revelations on the next episodes – News Séries
The death of François Laumière promises to reshuffle the cards in Un si grand soleil. Lou Kuma Kudi, who plays Muriel, spoke to Allociné about what awaits us in the upcoming episodes.
Life is far from being a long, quiet river in Un si grand soleil, and Muriel (Lou Kuma Kudi) certainly won't say otherwise.
Arriving in Montpellier last March, Muriel had no idea that her life would become so complicated. Between a newborn, a partner in prison and her job at L. Cosmétiques, Muriel knows no respite.
And the situation is not likely to calm down anytime soon. Indeed, the death of François Laumière (Jérémie Covillault) could well upset the fragile balance that it took her a long time to build.
Met a few days ago on the sets of Un si grand soleil located in Vendargues, Lou Kuma Kudi, her interpreter, confided in the microphone of Allociné about what awaits us during the next episodes of the daily soap opera of France 2.
Allociné: What did you like about the role of Muriel?
Lou Kuma Kudi : Muriel is very different from me. It's quite rare to have the opportunity to play someone who is the opposite of you. I drink coffee, she drinks tea for example. She is very square and very family, and I am very art and culture (laughs). It was funny to try to appropriate a character who is not at all me. And then it's a character who is very much in conflicts, who makes somewhat hard choices sometimes. It's very interesting.
Muriel embodies the archetype of the modern woman. A young mother in her twenties, a working girl… She manages to reconcile these two aspects of her life without having to make a choice. Is it important for you to show this positive image of women and that it is possible to do everything at once?
At the very beginning, Muriel's character was really there for her love life and family. When I received the scripts for this new arc, there was something great in the idea that it's not because she works that she's not a real mom. What I like is that there's a love and a kind of excitement about her work. An aspect that we don't show often enough in women I think. She loves her job, she loves working, she really likes it. It's really great to do and it's very positive.
Muriel and Elisabeth (Chrystelle Labaude) have become very close and are now very close. What can you tell me about this relationship? And how is filming with Chrystelle Labaude going?
It's great! As much for the characters as for me as a young actress. The relationship between Muriel and Elisabeth is a real gift. They have a bit of a mentor relationship, a bit of a mother-daughter relationship. There is also a lot of admiration on Muriel's side. And then Chrystelle is a great actress. I learn a lot at her side. She's really a hard worker, it's super nice.
François Laumière has just died. What can viewers expect in the upcoming episodes of the series?
So many things! The Laumière family is going to explode in mid-flight. Laurine (Léa Gillard) is going to believe that Élisabeth is responsible for François' death and is going to want revenge. She is going to go far and even to the extreme. Besides that, Élisabeth and Alain are going to get married but their wedding is not going to go as planned.
With François' death, will Muriel get closer to Boris?Jules Bahloul) ?
A lot! At first, Muriel feels guilty because she is the one who discovered that François had never graduated from Harvard. And secondly, it will also be because Boris opens up to her in a very intimate and very deep way. A real bond is woven between the two at that moment. In addition, Muriel still has a little penchant for wounded men. She will crack and spend a night with Boris.
Speaking of Eliott, how will the reunion between him and Muriel go?
They're really going to try to build their family life. They find themselves so they're embarrassed, shy but it's moving and funny.
How is filming with a baby?
I love it! We have two little ones who come to play the character of Toma. The babies are 30 minutes on the set. They had Stéphane play a lot with the baby. Muriel is always around but it's funny. It's true that in all the scenes they are folding laundry, preparing bottles. The arguments become hilarious.
And then, babies are very cute. When you have one in your arms, you play a lot less in fact. You have to be focused on the baby. There's something really nice about it. From giving birth to this, it was very funny. I had never done that.
Speaking of Muriel giving birth, how did the filming of this scene go?
I was very lucky because one of the extras was a real midwife. That was great! Not only did I have all the people on the crew who had already had children and who told me how to do it, but I also had this woman who acted as a personal coach. It was so cool! And as soon as there was something that wasn't right she would say: “No, that's too much. Anything, it doesn't exist.“.
Do you have any wishes for Muriel?
I think the authors do an impressive job and it's always surprising to discover how they connect things. I'm curious to know if Muriel has a family though. Since she's a bit obsessive with Eliott in prison, I wondered if she didn't have a parent in prison or a story about being on the run. I'd really like to know.
