Trump accepts Harris debate, calls her 'far-left' | News

Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced his acceptance of a debate with his rival Kamala Harris, the potential Democratic Party nominee.

During his first campaign event in Pennsylvania since the assassination attempt, Trump described Harris as a far-leftist who wants to turn the United States into a stronghold of communism, he said.

“In fact, Kamala Harris is worse than Joe Biden because she is a real radical leftist, and he is a fake radical leftist,” Trump said.

Democrats vote

Meanwhile, Democratic Party delegates began, on Thursday, choosing their candidate for the upcoming presidential elections, through electronic voting, in a process that will continue until next Monday.

Vice President Kamala Harris is the only candidate eligible to receive delegate votes after no other candidate failed to obtain enough signatures from party delegates to qualify for this round of voting.

In a campaign speech in Texas, Harris criticized Trump, saying his rhetoric was “based on division, and the American people deserve a better leader.”

Harris was responding to Trump's comments during a meeting with the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago, where he said she had misled voters about her ethnicity, and that she was only promoting her Indian heritage, and was not talking about any African origins.

Polls

In the same context, the latest results of opinion polls in the United States showed that Trump is making a slight lead over Harris.

According to all of these polls, Trump received 47.8% support, compared to 46.4% for Harris.
