Asked by The Hollywood Reporterthe Canadian director confirmed that he is working on his “own Terminator project” at the moment. The journalist's question was initially about the Terminator Zero series, which arrives on August 29 on Netflix.
“I'm working on my own Terminator project. It has nothing to do with the new series. As in the case of the The Sarah Connor Chronicles(the creators of Terminator Zero) have sometimes tackled things that I had played with completely independently. So there is a certain curiosity. It's not a burning curiosity, but, obviously, it would be nice to see the project come to fruition.”he said.
The journalist from The Hollywood Reporter, piqued by curiosity, tried to get James Cameron to talk about his confidence again by asking him for details. “This is completely confidential. I don't want to have to send a potentially dangerous robotic agent if you mention it, even retroactively,” he replied, with a touch of humor.
However, the artist has not clearly stated that he will direct this Terminator project himself in cinema. As a reminder, he directed the first two episodes before handing over to Jonathan Mostow for Rise of the Machines, McG for Renaissance, Alan Taylor for Genisys and Tim Miller for Dark Fate.

And they're written, by the way. I reread the scripts a month ago. They're exciting stories. They have to be directed. Someone else will only do it if I get hit by a bus or end up in an iron lung.”he said confidently.
For the moment the release dates of the sequels of the saga are as follows: Avatar Fire and Ash will arrive on December 17, 2025. The 4th episode will arrive on December 19, 2029 and the 5th opus will be offered to us on December 17, 2031.
