Some of them were martyred two days ago.. Misleading Israeli information about those targeted in the “Al-Tabi'in” massacre | News
Palestinian sources told Al Jazeera that the Israeli army's list of those targeted in the massacre at the “Al-Tabi'in” school in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City at dawn yesterday, Saturday, contained misleading information.
The sources added that two of those whose names were included in the list were martyred two days before the massacre in other areas. They also explained that the martyr Youssef Al-Wadiyya, who was included in the list, was martyred two days before the massacre in a different place, and that one of the pictures is of a martyr named Montaser Daher who was martyred the day before yesterday, Friday, with his sister, far from school.
The sources indicated that the martyr Muhammad al-Tayef, who was also included in the list, was an academic and former school principal and had no military activity.
The sources also confirmed to Al Jazeera that some of those whose names appeared on the list were preachers and university professors who had no military activity.
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the occupation army's claim that those who were martyred belonged to Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements was a misleading and false story.
The movement added – in a statement – that out of more than 100 civilians who were martyred in the school, the occupation announced 19 martyrs who it claimed were resistance fighters, to justify its crime, noting that its allegations are false and baseless.
The movement confirmed in its statement that not a single militant was among those killed, and that all of them were civilians who were targeted while performing the dawn prayer. It explained that the list of martyrs includes children, civil servants, university professors, and clerics.
