It's a tricky situation: you plan a trip well in advance and then you split up beforehand. Now what? Let the tickets expire? Or take someone else with you? That would be the simplest solution, but it's often also the most expensive.

If changes are not made in time, the ticket must be completely cancelled and rebooked. It's unbelievable what airlines charge for this – even well-known airlines! Consumer protection groups suspect that they want to make money from new bookings.

If you want to correct a typo in the name, this is possible after the booking some airlines offer this for free. However, Ryanair charges up to 115 euros to add a completely new name. BILD says: RIP-OFF!

Name change on flight ticket: free of charge depending on the fare or 10 euros when booking on the Condor website. Name changes are not possible when booking through a travel agency/online agent.

Name change on a Eurowings flight ticket: from 70 euros, depending on the ticket.

Changing your name on British Airways flights: 30 euros if you call the hotline.

Change name on KLM flight ticket: free of charge until 30 hours before departure.

😡 Singapore Airlines

Name change with Singapore Airlines: 50 US dollars for minor adjustments, more is not possible.

😐 Easyjet

Up to three letters free of charge, more extensive name changes from 59 euros.

😡 Air France

Air travelers are simply informed that a correction is not possible. The ticket therefore loses its value.
