The shooting of the series 'Land of Beautiful Loves' will soon begin in Cappadocia. Before going to the set, the actors of the series came together at a reading rehearsal at Boyut Yapım.
The entire cast, including Mahsun Kırmızıgül and the series' leading actors Halil Ergün and Meltem Cumbul, took part in the joyful rehearsals. Actress Meltem Cumbul, who stated that Cappadocia has an important place in her life and that is why she is very excited before the shootings start, said, “I have been waiting for a long time; since it was postponed to September, I feel like a birth has taken place, this was the ninth month. A beautiful and pleasant second reading took place. I was able to see the characters more clearly, hear their voices, and feel them. I was able to imagine what could happen in the scenes. That also made me happy. This story excited me a lot. The reason is that it never stops and it beautifully tells the importance of the concept of family and the importance of love. Also, the fact that it will take place in Cappadocia is even more special. Because I spent three years in Cappadocia when I was a child, my father was a manager at a bank, it is a place I love very much. The place also affects me a lot. It was more impressive for me to read thinking about that place.”

Cumbul, who said that he returned to the screens after a 10-year hiatus, continued as follows: “It has been 10 years, I am returning to the screens again. I spent 10 years teaching and singing. I hope that it will be nice to be in a mainstream business again after 10 years, one of the main characters. I came from America with great confidence. The fact that both Medyapım, Boyut Film, Mahsun Kırmızıgül and Halil Ergün were involved in this business convinced me.”
“I STILL WANT TO BE A YOUNG MAN”
Expressing his excitement to be with the young names in the cast during the reading rehearsals, veteran actor Halil Ergün said, “We have young people with us, they are fresh. I still want to be the leading man,” and emphasized that Cappadocia is an impressive place, and said, “I had a very tired period, I did series, movies, etc. for ten years. Mahsun is special in our lives, he convinced me from the day he came, then Meltem came. Meltem also shot her first movie with me when she came from England. Cappadocia is the place that impressed me the most. I always say, ‘If someone who hasn’t seen Cappadocia, they shouldn’t say I am from Anatolia,’ so we will shoot there. I have shot movies there before.”

Mahsun Kırmızıgül, who stated that they will go on set on August 10th and that the shootings will take place in the Black Sea and Diyarbakır after Cappadocia, said that he was happy to work with the leading actors Halil Ergün and Meltem Cumbul and said: “We started preparing for this story 2.5 years ago. Then, we first met with Halil Abi, he is a very valuable master to me. He calls me after watching every movie of mine for years and we talk. I have known Meltem for years. I had not had the chance to work with both of them until today. This project brought us together. Meltem is very modest, she actually closed her house in New York and moved here. Halil Abi never accepted projects, he could not be convinced, I hope that a beautiful work will emerge when we come together. We have a beautiful cast, we will work with a strong technical team. We were going to go on set last March, both because of the season and because I could not feel comfortable, but now we are ready. We will start the set on August 10, and on the 12th we will be in Cappadocia, and then there will be shooting in the Black Sea and Diyarbakır.”

When I came here to Boyut Yapım, I was very excited, I saw the films he shot and the pictures of the actors on the walls, a place like a museum. Because I am proud of the traces of Turkish cinema, its actors, those we lost and the living. I was very angry about one thing; you cast everyone, why didn’t you cast me in these films?” Kırmızıgül, who said, “It seems like fate is today,” then praised Halil Ergün and Meltem Cumbul by saying, “Halil abi is a very valuable master, I am someone who has been following him since the movie Yol. He won my heart with the character he played there. I have always loved and respected Halil abi since then. I love Meltem very much too, we have a friendship from the past anyway. We met with the right people in a good project.” Kırmızıgül also said that she did not think of leaving the stage when asked a question and said, “I will not leave the stage, I will not leave that again.”
