“Humanist and moving”: rated 4.2 out of 5, it's Zabou Breitman's best film – Cinema News

On the occasion of the cinema release of “Super Papa”, we look at the filmography of Zabou Breitman. What is the actress's best feature film according to AlloCiné viewers?

Zabou Breitman, 64, is one of the most popular actresses in France. Since her debut in the 1980s, the artist has made her mark in many varied roles, even going behind the camera on several occasions. She notably won the César for Best First Work in 2003 for Se souvenir des belles choses.

On the occasion of the theatrical release of Super Papa, in which she plays Ahmed Sylla's mother-in-law, we invite you to find the best film of Zabou Breitman's career according to AlloCiné viewers.

With a score of 4.2 out of 5 (average of 8,308 ratings), it is We Three or Nothing that obtains this honorary title. Released in theaters on November 4, 2015, Kheiron's film was a great success, attracting 650,000 curious people.

From a small village in southern Iran to the Parisian cities, Kheiron tells us the extraordinary destiny of his parents Hibat and Fereshteh, eternal optimists, in a comedy with the air of a universal tale that evokes family love, self-sacrifice and above all the ideal of living together.

What do the spectators think?

For Vincenzobino, “We Three or Nothing is a small miracle on tolerance. The merit of the film is to share laughter, seriousness and tenderness, with magnificent sequences. Truly a universal film to highly recommend.”

A feel-good movie?

For his part, Marcel D evokes “a film with refreshing finesse. The Three of Us or Nothing transported me with great pleasure. Both funny and touching, light and interesting, the scenario holds up, with real depth for the main characters. An optimistic film that does you good.”

Isabelle EC is also won over: “It's a strong and moving film with excellent actors. I smiled, I cried and I loved this humanist film full of good feelings and dark humor.”

jmbleuet1 has been “touched and enchanted by this film. It's the cinema I love, with good actors who play their roles in a fair but offbeat way, because the humor under the tragedy is there. It's sad enough to make you laugh and funny enough to make you cry, that's life.”

Too many good feelings?

While the vast majority of spectators were convinced by Kheiron's proposal, some discordant voices were heard: “Yet more proof that a true story doesn't necessarily make a good film. Kheiron is a good actor and his parents' story is interesting, but it's so full of good feelings that it borders on mawkishness.”underlines Momo M.

Jack K, for his part, was not transported at all: “The film is crap, but it is also an insult to the Iranian revolution, a subject that is dealt with in the first part of the film. The story is poorly filmed, poorly told and pretentiously edited.”

Maryane75 felt “very uncomfortable with the inconstancy and frivolity, not to say disdain, with which the comedian has thrown his parents' lives to the wolves. It's as if he despises her and that is, in fact, quite contemptible. I am dismayed.”

If you want to make up your own mind, We Three or Nothing is available on DVD, Blu-ray and VOD.
