Heinz Hoenig reports from hospital: First words to his fans! | Entertainment
Heinz Hoenig (72) is getting better day by day. The actor is fighting his way back to life in small steps after having to be resuscitated around two weeks ago.
For the first time in over three months we see the former jungle camp star standing instead of lying in bed. He can sit up and even walk a few steps with the help of his wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (39), the nursing staff and a walker.
Here his wife Annika helps Heinz Hoenig out of bed. He can take his first steps again
But that’s not all. “Heinzi,” as his Annika affectionately calls him, is strong enough to speak to the public from the hospital for the first time.
In a video, which was recorded this week and released by TV station RTL this Fridayyou can see and hear Heinz Hoenig speak.
With a weakened voice but a focused look into the camera, he says: “Hello fans, dear colleagues. I would like to sincerely thank you for helping me so much.”
He also seems to mean the GoFundMe donation page, which has so far raised around 170,000 euros (donation goal: 500,000 euros).
At the end of June, Heinz Hoenig visited his little sons Juliano and Jianni (right) in the clinic for the first time
The star of “Das Boot” is optimistic and says in the short clip: “I'm still in the hospital, everything is being repaired. I have a good wife who is worried. And I want to go back to my two small children. All I want to say is that everything will be fine. Thank you.”
The glimmer of hope that he will soon be able to return home to his sons Juliano (3) and Jianni (1) and his wife seems to be giving him new strength. According to Annika, they are currently considering treating Heinz Hoenig as an outpatient until he is strong enough for the vital aorta operation.
