Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (39) shares pictures with the public showing her and her husband and acting legend Heinz Hoenig (72). He has been fighting for his life in the intensive care unit of a Berlin hospital for over 100 days. These photos give courage and hope – finally: Heinz can stand up straight.

He seems to be doing better, after he had to be resuscitated about two weeks agoFor the first time in over three months, we see the former jungle camp star standing instead of lying in bed.

As BILD knows, the photo is from this week. Annika helps her husband up, he looks at her – then they kiss tenderly.

The strain of the last few months is evident on Hoenig; he is thin and appears weak.

On Instagram, Annika shares lyrics from the song “Kämpferherz” by DSDS star Pietro Lombardi. Pietro wrote the song for his son Alessio (9), who was born lifeless in 2015 and had to be resuscitated. Today, the boy is in perfect health.

“Success is not a destination, but a journey,” writes Annika. And to her husband: “There is a fighter’s heart beating in your chest.”

Kärsten-Hoenig is still always with her “Heinzi”In an interview with “Bunte” she offers further glimmers of hope. Hoenig is not only awake, responsive and can breathe and stand independently.

Supported by the nursing staff, Heinz took a few steps along the hospital corridor using a walker.

Heinz Hoenig urgently needs an aorta operationfor which he is currently too weak. The latest plan, according to Annika (a trained nurse) to “Bunte”: to bring Heinz home and treat him as an outpatient until the operation. Whether this wish will come true is currently still an open question.
