Hamas: Israel's closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque is a crime and a blatant attack news
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemned the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque by the Israeli occupation authorities, stressing that this constitutes a violation of the sanctity and holiness of the Mosque and represents a crime and a blatant attack on a purely Islamic mosque.
Hamas said in a statement that this matter will not succeed in Judaizing and obliterating Islamic monuments in Palestine.
She stressed that the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque is a further restriction of the practice of religious rituals, and that the repeated closure of it and the prevention of the dawn call to prayer in it are a disregard for all international norms, laws and laws.
The movement called on the international community to “take effective action to take strict measures against the fascist occupation government.”
Today, Thursday, the Israeli occupation authorities closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron, south of the occupied West Bank, to worshipers, coinciding with dozens of settlers storming the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
The occupation police tightened its military measures in the vicinity of the Ibrahimi Mosque, preventing Muslims from entering it while opening it to settlers on the occasion of the Jewish New Year.
The Israeli authorities completely close the Ibrahimi Mosque to Muslims 10 days a year, which coincide with Jewish holidays.
Since 1994, Israel has divided the Ibrahimi Mosque in the Old City of Hebron 63% for Jews and 37% for Muslims, following a massacre committed by a settler that resulted in the killing of 29 worshipers.
In conjunction with the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque, dozens of settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and performed Talmudic rituals there on the occasion of the Jewish New Year.
The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) reported that settlers stormed Al-Aqsa in successive groups, carried out provocative rounds, and performed Talmudic rituals in its courtyards.
The occupation police deployed hundreds of its officers in the Old City of Jerusalem and its surroundings, especially at the Al-Aqsa gates, and imposed restrictions on the entry of worshipers.
