For his part, Professor of Political Science Dr. Abdullah Al-Shaiji said that Hamas chose confrontation in response to the Zionists’ war of extermination, Netanyahu’s intransigence, his evasions, and his failure of the negotiations.

He added, “Hamas turned the tables, surprised and slapped Netanyahu and his extremist fascist gang, and chose the most dangerous hawk among its hawks, Sinwar, as its leader, especially since he has the final say inside Gaza and the negotiations.”

One commentator saw the selection of Sinwar as Hamas’s leader as a declaration by the movement and all its sons that they are rallying around the flood as a choice and decision. He pointed out that the speed of the decision and consultation between the inside and outside means that the mechanisms of consultation and the organizational bodies in Hamas are effective and capable of making fateful decisions at critical moments.

Others said that Sinwar is the most capable of understanding the Israeli personality, how it thinks, and knowing its weak points. He can hit it in a way that hurts it and negatively affects its psyche, causing it to become frustrated and defeated. Also, the unanimous selection of Sinwar as a successor to Haniyeh is a clear message to the entire world about the unity of the movement’s decision to choose the right person to deal with the occupier at this stage.

Bloggers added that the movement, by choosing Sinwar, chose the path of arms and confrontation until the last moment, far from political diplomacy.

On the other hand, others saw the decision as a mistake due to Sinwar's presence inside, which hinders the negotiation process and political movements between countries to provide an opportunity for further discussion and negotiation.
