Drama on the plane: taken away by the police because of Louis Vuitton handbag | Life & Knowledge
A woman had to leave a plane because she didn't want to put her Louis Vuitton handbag under the seat in front of her. And not only that: she was even taken away by the police after the pilot had to turn around.
The story of a Chinese woman and her 3000 Euro Handbag is currently going around the world. The drama took place at the airport in the Chinese city of Chongqing, a metropolis with 32 million inhabitants and two huge Louis Vuitton stores.
► The plane was on its way to the runway, Flight attendants went through the rows and asked the woman to Handbag under the seat in front of her. The Chinese woman refused. She put her brown luxury bag next to her, played on her mobile phone and ignored all further instructions from the cabin crew.

Taken away with handbag
Because of the recalcitrant handbag lover, the pilot returned to the gate. The crew called the police – and the woman was taken away from economy class with her designer item.
Passengers filmed and photographed the whole thing. The footage ended up on a Chinese social media site. Also shown: fellow passengers applaud as the woman Airplane have to leave.
Handbag solidarity from women – but also criticism
But the passenger also receives understanding online.
▶︎ “I love these handbags,” writes one woman: “Have you ever seen how they treat them in the shops? Louis Vuitton-Bags are handled with white gloves. I would never have put them on the floor either.”
▶︎ “The flight attendant could have offered her a protective bag to put her handbag in,” writes another.
For others, however, none of this is understandable. “What a drama over a bag,” is a common comment.
