Democratic Party Targets Overseas Voters, Trump Returns to 'X' | News

Reuters reported that the US Democratic Party is targeting voters in swing states abroad, to gain support for the party's candidate, Kamala Harris, as Vice President in the presidential elections.

Democratic Party officials noted that there are more than 1.6 million Americans living abroad in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, and that they will fight to get every vote.

These states are considered essential for both Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump to win the upcoming presidential election.

On the other side, former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump posted a video about his presidential campaign on the X platform for the first time since August of last year.

This comes ahead of an interview that will be broadcast on the platform with its owner, American businessman Elon Musk, who previously announced his support for Trump in the presidential elections and pledged to make donations to his campaign.

Meanwhile, a new poll by the University of Michigan and the Financial Times shows that American voters have more confidence in Harris to manage the economy than Trump.

Forty-two percent of those surveyed said they trust the vice president to handle the economy better, compared to 41 percent for Trump.

The poll showed that a majority of voters call on Harris to change President Biden's economic policies, with 60% saying the Democratic nominee should make major changes or adopt a different approach.
