Beware of dangerous plastic parts in the bread!
The manufacturer Lieken Brot- und Backwaren GmbH is recalling one of its products. Foreign objects could be hidden in it and cause serious injuries.
Lieken Urkorn Fit and Vital Vitamin Bread, a mixed wheat bread with 25 percent carrots and 7.7 percent sunflower seeds, could also contain white plastic parts. These could get stuck in the esophagus or gastrointestinal tract after consumption and cause serious injuries.
The batch affected by the recall is the one with a production date between July 18 and August 6, 2024 and a best-before date between August 7 and August 26, 2024. The packaging unit is 400 g and the batch number or lot identification is 07.08. – 26.08. According to the manufacturer, the information can be found on the product cap.
The manufacturer announced that the bread is listed in many retail companies across Germany, including Rewe and Penny. Buyers should not eat it under any circumstances and can return it to the relevant stores – even without a receipt.
