The summer vacation is just over and what remains are the beautiful memories, the summer tan and the longing for the next trip.
So why not already at the Holiday planning for the coming year?
To make the most of your vacation days, you should definitely take bridge days into account when planning. This means that the number of vacation days can often be doubled. In 2025, 23 vacation days will become a whopping 56 days off!

New Year
The start of the year falls on a Wednesday next year. So if you want to welcome the new year with an extra-long weekend, you can use two days of vacation and enjoy five days off to arrive in 2025 completely relaxed.
Easter
Because Good Friday and Easter Monday, as every year, provide two short weeks in a row, the holiday is Easter particularly popular. Anyone who invests eight vacation days here will be rewarded with a total of 16 days off.
Labor Day & Ascension Day
May is considered the Germans’ favorite month. This may also be reflected in the start of the festive Wedding season and the usually great weather. But above all, May offers one thing: holidays. Both May 1st and Ascension of Christ fall on a Thursday in 2025. So if you take two days off, you can treat yourself to two long weekends.
Pentecost
Who Pentecost with Ascension Day (May 24th – June 15th), you get a total of 23 days off with only 13 days of vacation. But the Whitsun holidays are also worthwhile: here you can expect nine days off with only four days of vacation.
Day of German unity
In 2025, the Day of German unity back to a working day. With four days of vacation, you can enjoy a whole nine days of vacation. The golden autumn is therefore the ideal time to catch up on that city trip that was too hot for in the summer.
Christmas
The little break over Christmas is a given for most employees in Germany. Because the first and second days of Christmas fall on a Thursday and Friday respectively next year, only three days' holiday are needed for an extended Christmas holiday.

Bavaria is the leader when it comes to public holidays. If you make the most of the bridge days in southern Germany, you can enjoy an incredible 70 days off with 28 days of vacation.
