Battle of the browsers, who wins: Opera, Brave or Vivaldi?

Recently, a new wave of browsers has appeared on the market. Brave and Vivaldi use Google's Chromium platform as their base engine. And Opera has come up with interesting new updates to try to fill its lost ground.

Let's find out which of the 3 is the best? Oh, we've already made a list comparing the 3 most popular browsers, and you can check it out here:

Security

All three presented good results in terms of security. All of them have a good focus on privacy and good features for blocking third-party scripts and cookies. Brave stands out, as it blocks ads without the need for any additional installation and uses only the https protocol, further increasing user security.

Interface

Here some differences start to appear between the 3. Brave has a more basic interface, which is not what will attract you to give it a try, but it doesn't disappoint, being very similar to Chrome.

Opera comes with a version more aimed at gamers, Opera GX comes with a more modern interface and a RAM memory controller, having a very interesting and different interface.

Vivaldi comes with some details that make all the difference. You can use mouse gestures to perform tasks such as closing a tab, creating a new tab and refreshing the page, increasing the dynamism when browsing.

Here the choice is more up to the target audience, with Opera being the one that attracts the most attention.

Hardware Consumption

Here comes the big difference between the 3 compared to the most famous ones. They all consume much less RAM and processing power than the others. Brave is very lightweight, being an excellent optimization of the Google engine.

Opera GX can help you if you are a gamer who needs to keep a tab open to consult some data, since you can limit the amount of RAM that the browser will use.

In the case of Vivaldi, it doesn't have any special highlights but it also has excellent performance and is another good optimization of Chromium.

Stability

Another excellent point for all 3. They all worked very well and did not crash. Brave and Vivaldi have a native ad blocker, which makes things even easier, as they eliminate the need for an ad blocker.

The verdict is…

Any of the 3 could be the best for you. Both have significant differences between them that make you choose for a more personal reason than performance.

Brave is the fastest and has interesting features like blocking ads. Opera GX might be your new favorite alt+tab browser when gaming. And Vivaldi has interesting features for someone who is browsing with a wireless mouse away from their PC, for example.

Is it worth testing a lesser-known browser?

Here the answer is… Yes! Especially if your PC or notebook is older.

All of them have much better optimization than Chrome, for example. This means you can gain interesting performance without losing almost anything, in addition to taking advantage of features that are not available in the most popular ones on the market.
