Awards to Ahmet Mekin and Göksel Kortay

At the ceremony held at the Kemal Sunal Theater in the Culture Park Amphitheater, the “Lifetime Honor Award in Culture and Arts” was presented to Ahmet Mekin, and the “Lifetime Achievement Award” was presented to Sevinç Erbulak on behalf of Göksel Kortay by Büyükçekmece Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün and Büyükçekmece Municipality Coordinator H. Gürhan Ozanoğlu.

Mekin, who came to the award ceremony with his grandson Mekin Sezer, who is an actor, said that he is 93 years old and said, “Very good days are coming for you. All of you, see good days. See brighter days. See a more beautiful Turkey. Let's all experience these together. This Turkey raised a Mustafa Kemal, but it will raise many more Mustafa Kemals. It will raise many more, it will take us forward. I believe in this. I believe in you, the Turkish people. I thank you all very much.”
