Anti-aging: 6 lifting and anti-wrinkle facial massages
” THE facial massage helps to restart the synthesis of elastic fibers in the skin. We are talking about mechano-stimulation here, and I really believe in it!” says Dr. Anny Cohen-Letessier, dermatologist. This stimulation by massage works the facial muscles that support the skin. Toning them helps to hold your skin better and therefore provides an action anti-aging. “We can clearly see it when we strengthen our body, the skin is also tightened,” the dermatologist notes.
Mechanical facial modeling increases collagen levels
A study has shown that Mechanical stimulation of the skin increased collagen levels in the skin (source 1). After 10 sessions of so-called sequential suction, dermatologists observed an increase in the synthesis of hyaluronic acid by 80% and elastin by 45%.
Among the mechanical facial massages, LPG® Endermologie treatments allow, with suitable tips, to work on specific areas of the face.
As an initial treatment, we recommend around ten 30-minute sessions, two per week, followed by maintenance sessions every month, explains Karine Gautier, head of LPG endermologie® training.
It costs €40 for 30 minutes.

Two self-facial massages to do at home
Massage n°1
- Massage your temples, face and jaws: using your fingers, apply a circular rubbing motion to your temples;
- Use slow, precise, firm circles, staying in contact with one area of skin while moving over the bones below. Sliding your fingers upward toward the forehead, continue the circular rubbing motion until your fingers meet in the middle, just above the nose;
- Then push with your fingertips, and slide back towards the temples, keeping firm pressure on the skin all the time. Repeat twice;
- Using your fingertips, press into the angle of your jaw, and as you press, open and close your mouth slightly, allowing you to find the exact spot that seems to hold the most tension. Apply slow circular friction to this point, plus a little very precise pressure, until you feel your jaw begin to relax.
Massage n°2
This massage focuses on pressure and gliding.
- Warm your hands by rubbing them together for a few seconds;
- Place palms over eyes for 10 seconds, three times in a row;
- Using one or three middle fingers, massage around each eye for 10 seconds;
- Fold both middle fingers, and dab above, below and on each side of the eyes;
- With both hands open, massage the face in circular movements (except the nose and ears);
- Using your index fingers, rub your nose from the tip to the top of your forehead, ten times (always from bottom to top).
