Adele in Munich: BILD preview in the XXL Arena | Entertainment

Big, bigger, Adele (36)! The singer (“Hello”) is not only one of the most successful singers of the 21st century, with more than 100 million records sold. For her ten concerts from today until August 31st in Munich, a location has been built that exceeds all previous dimensions.

On the exhibition grounds, the Adele-Empire was created. 400,000 square meters, the equivalent of almost 60 football fields, form the setting for their only concerts on the European mainland.

The focal point is the 300-meter-wide stage, which has space for 80,000 fans. It was designed by Munich-based Florian Wieder (56), who has already designed the stages for Beyoncé and Rammstein.

He told BILD: “The Adele World is by far the biggest thing I have ever built. The thing is as big as London's Wembley Stadium, and this has never happened before for an individual artist in this form anywhere in the world.”

The gastronomic area with 14,000 seats is also unique. There you can find cocktails and beers specially selected by Adele, as well as her personal favorite wines and favorite dishes.

In addition to a classic beer garden, the highlight is the replica of the English pub “The Good Ship” from the London district of Kilburn. Adele played her first concert there in 2006 and later signed her first record deal.

A Ferris wheel, carousels, a small live stage and a farmers market provide entertainment before and after the concerts.

Another special feature: everything is in elegant black. From the stage to the chairs to the trash cans and even the toilets. Which reinforces the gigantic impression even more.

Again: “Adele wanted something completely unique. She has extremely high standards for herself and everything that goes with it.”

This was successful – and according to BILD information, the world star is very happy about the successful implementation.

The regular prices for Adele's Munich concerts range between 75 and 400 euros. However, a few cheaper last-minute tickets were still sold.

The seat is randomly assigned like a lottery. Right in front of the stage or in the upper rows of the stadium – you only find out where you end up on the day of the concert. But the ticket only costs 35 euros.

“These are individual seats or seats with limited visibility. This offer also gives fans with lower incomes the opportunity to see the concert,” organizer Live Nation told BILD.

This is how much Adele brings to the city of Munich

The city of Munich is also happy, because the Adele concerts with a total of 800,000 visitors are a stroke of luck.

Those responsible are hoping for additional revenue of 563 million euros. Of this, 369 million euros would come from the hospitality industry, 122 million euros from retail and 92 million euros from services.

Economic advisor Clemens Baumgärtner (48, CSU) expects 500,000 overnight stays, as around 80 percent of visitors do not come from Munich.

Baumgärtner: “An Adele concert-goer staying overnight has about the same economic value as two normal holiday guests.”
