“Laughter has a positive effect on health,” says Robin Dunbar, Emeritus Professor of Evolutionary Psychology at the University of Oxford, to the Sunday Telegraph. The expert: “Laughter not only promotes heart health, but also well-being, immune system and mood.” It also stimulates the production of the happiness hormone endorphin.

Three ways to start the day with a smile

Admittedly, the best way to laugh is with other people. According to neuroscientist Prof. Sophie Scott, we laugh up to 30 times more with others than we do alone.

Do people who wake up alone in the morning, perhaps because their partner is already out or they are single, have to laugh less? No! You can make yourself laugh with these tricks.

The alarm clock trick: Listen to others laughing! “It's actually contagious,” says Prof. Sophie Scott. To start the day with a smile, try a new alarm tone. Why not wake up to loud laughter from sitcoms or the hearty laugh of your favorite celebrity? This will help you start the day much more positively and do something for your Health.

Take your laughter into your own hands! There is an entire industry dedicated to laughter. Make a list of Seriesfilms, podcasts or jokes that are guaranteed to always make you laugh. Instead of waiting for funny or heartwarming situations, it's better to actively contribute to making you laugh. So put on your favorite entertainment in the morning in the bath or at breakfast and you're guaranteed to laugh!

Fake it till you make it! By the way: If you don’t feel like laughing, just laugh it off. Studies have shown that our Brain cannot distinguish between an artificially created laugh and a real laugh. The positive effect on the body and Soul occurs anyway. Tip: There are countless videos on the internet about so-called laughter yoga, which show exercises on how to make yourself laugh.
