Age, origin, early career: who is Tomer Sisley?

Tomer Sisley, Born Tomer Gazit on August 14, 1974 in Berlin, he is a French-Israeli comedian and actor. Coming from a family with multiple origins (Jewish, Arab, Russian, Yemenite), he moved to France during his childhood. As a teenager, he enjoyed entertaining those around him and discovered a vocation as a comedian.
The young man went through the castings and landed, in 1995, a role in an episode of the TV series Highlander then in the sitcom South Studio (1996) alongside Séverine Ferrer.

As a comedian, he specializes in stand-up, creates several shows and notably provides the first part of Jamel Debbouze's one-man show in 2004. He then co-writes his first show with Philippe Mechelen and Kader Aoun. In 2005, he was part of Cyril Hanouna's team in the France 2 show, Fort Boyard.

An artist as relaxed as he is efficient, Tomer Sisley made his film debut under the direction of Jean-Pierre Mocky in Alliance seeks finger in 1997. In 2003, he was caught in the Mazes by René Manzor and went on to play supporting roles: after having played Dino in Virgil from Mabrouk el Mechri in 2005, he is a tax collector in The Nativity (2006), pushes Julie Depardieu away in You and me (2006) and plays one of Frédéric Schoendoerffer's crooks in 2007.

If he lent his voice in 2008 to the animated film Kung Fu Panda (and following in 2011), the actor took on the lead role of the wealthy adventurer Largo Winch in Jérôme Salle's adaptation of the famous comic book by Philippe Francq and Jean Van Hamme that year. The film was a great success, enough to start work on a second part in 2011, Largo Winch 2in which the actor (who performs several stunts himself) rubs shoulders with Sharon Stone and Laurent Terzieff.

In 2011, Tomer Sisley spent a Sleepless night with JoeyStarr, Julien Boisselier and Serge Riaboukine. This edgy thriller is directed by Frédéric Jardin. In 2013, he was part of the cast of the American comedy The Millers, a budding family, alongside Jennifer Aniston. In 2018, he played opposite Odile Vuillemin in the police series Innocents broadcast on TF1. He was also recruited by Netflix to play, in the series Messiaha young man from the Middle East presented by some as a messiah.

He is not abandoning cinema, however, as he is starring in the adaptation ofAngelic by Ariel Zeitoun (2013), by Kidon by Emmanuel Naccache (2014) and Last Day of Yitzhak Rabin by Amos Gitaï (2015). He can also be found in the documentary Young and me (2015), in The Serpent with a Thousand Cuts (2017) and in Lucky Day (2019).

At the end of 2017, he was suspected of having plagiarized American comedians for his show. Stand-up (2006), accusations confirmed on the show Correspondent from March 22, 2018. In 2019, he played Rafael Crozes in the series Philharmoniabroadcast on France 2.
